Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, a global hospitality giant, is set to introduce its European brand, Vienna House, in India by mid-next year. With a current count of 60 hotels in India, the company has ambitious plans to expand its footprint to 100 hotels by 2025, reflecting its commitment to replicating global success in the vibrant Indian market.
The introduction of Vienna House holds a special place in this expansion strategy, along with the upcoming addition of Wyndham Grand in 2025. These brands are expected to resonate well with Indian consumers and attract inbound tourists from Europe, contributing to the dynamic growth of the hospitality sector in India.
Dimitris Manikis, President for Europe, the Middle East, Eurasia, and Africa (EMEA) at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, expressed enthusiasm not only for business prospects but also for the people of India. The company aims to leverage substantial infrastructure development, particularly in airports, roads, and ports, to fuel significant growth in various cities over the next five years.
Wyndham's strategic focus includes broader distribution beyond major cities, with an emphasis on tier two and tier three cities. This approach aligns with ongoing infrastructure development, and key areas of interest include religious and wellness tourism, strategically positioning hotels at significant pilgrimage sites.
To support India's growth and encourage hospitality investments, Wyndham actively engages the Indian diaspora in the U.S. Additionally, the company plans to leverage its Wyndham Rewards program to showcase India's beauty and attract global interest. This multifaceted approach underscores Wyndham's commitment to sustainable growth, emphasizing regional expansion, cultural tourism, global outreach, and diaspora connections over the next five years. The acquisition of Vienna House last year and the strategic vision for India position Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as a key player in shaping the future landscape of Indian hospitality.
