Mumbai’s food scene just got a whole lot more exciting with the opening of Zaatar W Zeit, the globally celebrated Lebanese urban casual eatery. Launched by Passion Cuisine, this restaurant promises to bring the authentic and rich flavors of Lebanon to the city for the first time. Located in Bandra, the new outlet offers an urban dining experience centered around traditional Lebanese ingredients and cooking techniques.
Founded in Lebanon in 1999, Zaatar W Zeit has gained a loyal following across the world for its delicious and fresh offerings. Known for its za'atar manakeesh—flatbreads topped with a special spice blend—the eatery offers a variety of other Lebanese dishes, such as wraps, salads, and hearty beverages. The brand’s name, which translates to "Za'atar and Olive Oil" in Arabic, perfectly captures the essence of Lebanese culinary culture.
On bringing the brand to Mumbai, Mr. Bhupender Nath, Director of Passion Cuisine, and Mr. Sushaan Nath, CEO of Passion Cuisine, shared, “Our search for wholesome, healthy alternatives led us to Zaatar W Zeit in Dubai, where the authenticity and vibrant flavors instantly won us over. For us, it was more than just great food—it was an experience worth sharing. With Zaatar W Zeit, we're introducing Mumbai to the true taste of Lebanon.”
Chef Sarfaraz Ahmed, Corporate Chef at Passion F&B India, adds, “While Lebanese cuisine in India is often limited to shawarma and hummus, Zaatar W Zeit offers a much broader range of authentic dishes. We source spices directly from Lebanon to bring true Lebanese flavors to Mumbai. Lebanese food may be perceived as milder than Indian cuisine, but it is incredibly rich in fresh vegetables, handmade bread, and wholesome ingredients.”
The Mumbai outlet’s menu goes beyond the usual Lebanese fare, offering a wide range of dishes such as traditional manakeesh (Zaatar, Jebneh, Lahmeh bi Ajjine), classic and spicy chicken shawarma, vegetarian options like Brown Baked Falafel and Light Halloumi wraps, as well as hearty skillets, fresh salads, and indulgent desserts like Z Knefeh and Nutella & Banana manakeesh.
Passion Cuisine has been instrumental in bringing Zaatar W Zeit to India, leveraging their deep understanding of the Indian culinary market. The group has successfully launched several restaurants in both the UAE and India, including Avatara, Trèsind, and Maison De Curry, ensuring the brand’s success in Mumbai as well.
With more than 70 outlets worldwide, Zaatar W Zeit’s entry into India is part of its global expansion strategy, following successful ventures in locations like Canada. Mumbai food lovers can now experience the essence of Lebanese cuisine in a modern, welcoming atmosphere.

India’s fastest-growing sourdough pizza chain, Si Nonna’s, has officially arrived in Thane, opening its 23rd outlet at The Walk, Hiranandani Estate. Known for bringing the taste of Naples to Indian palates with its 48-hour fermented sourdough crust, the brand now adds Thane to its list of cities that includes Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, and more.
Founded in 2022 in Mumbai, Si Nonna’s has quickly become a go-to for authentic Neapolitan pizzas, crafted with premium ingredients and a whole lot of love. Its debut in Thane marks another major milestone in its expansion journey.
"Thane’s vibrant and innovative food scene makes it the perfect destination for Si Nonna’s next chapter," shared Ayush Jatia, the visionary behind the brand. "We’re excited to serve Thane’s food lovers with our handcrafted pizzas and unique dining experiences."
The new outlet brings a slice of Italy to Thane with its live open kitchen and a fun Make-Your-Own-Pizza activity that lets guests step into the chef’s shoes and build their own pie from scratch. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a hands-on, immersive experience.
Si Nonna’s Thane menu blends classic Italian flavours with bold Indian twists. Highlights include:
Pizza No. 3: Tomato sauce, Fior di Latte mozzarella, garlic, Kalamata olives, capers, oregano, fresh basil, and EVOO.
Pizza No. 6: Spiced chicken, Mt. Vesuvian sun-dried tomatoes, spicy chili oil, basil pesto, and EVOO.
Health-conscious diners can rejoice—thanks to the light, naturally fermented sourdough base, these pizzas are lighter, more digestible, and full of flavour.
There are Jain-friendly and vegan options too, along with Italian-style Panuozzo sandwiches, calzones, tiramisu, Nonna’s Cooler, and artisanal gelatos.
With its signature combination of authenticity, innovation, and interactivity, Si Nonna’s is set to become a local favourite. Whether it’s a cozy dinner or a pizza-making date night, this new spot offers something special for everyone.
