Bengaluru's culinary landscape just got a vibrant new addition with the opening of MOGLU, a restaurant that's all about celebrating the richness of vegetarian cuisine without borders. Co-founded by Ankita Shree, a former IRS officer turned entrepreneur, and Dr. Kiran Narayanan, a computational physicist turned culinary expert, MOGLU is on a mission to redefine vegetarian dining.
Dubbed the 'Edgy Veggie Restaurant,' MOGLU is a testament to the founders' three-year journey of curating a holistic dining experience. Located in the heart of Bengaluru, the restaurant is part of the Mamacoco group, known for its dedication to vegetarian-forward gastronomy.
What sets MOGLU apart is its commitment to showcasing the natural bounty of each season, transforming simple ingredients into culinary masterpieces. From breakfast to dinner, including a café and an array of zero-proof drinks, MOGLU promises an all-day dining experience that's both fun and complex.
Ankita Shree, MD of MOGLU, shares her vision for the restaurant, "We aim to fill the gaps in the vegetarian dine-in segment by offering more choices, better quality, and constant innovation. Our menu is designed to appeal to vegetarians, meat-eaters, and flexitarians alike, making MOGLU the perfect spot for anyone looking to celebrate with sophisticated vegetarian fare."
By blending cross-cultural influences on a plate, MOGLU is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary movement towards embracing vegetarian cuisine in new and exciting ways. With its fresh, ingredient-driven approach, MOGLU stands ready to usher in a new era of vegetarian dining in Bengaluru.

Tokyo Matcha Bar has opened its first dine-in location in Bandra, introducing Mumbai's first-ever matcha bar. The founders, Michelin-starred Chef Rahul Ramnani and coffee lover Meher Kohli, have been credited with starting the matcha movement in the city, which is known for its diverse culinary offerings.
Originally a small coffee hideaway called Ritual Daily Coffee, Tokyo Matcha Bar began with the founders' passion for unique beverages. They aimed to provide an alternative to Mumbai's well-established tea and coffee culture by introducing the city to matcha, a traditional Japanese green tea. Tokyo Matcha Bar quickly gained popularity among those looking for a non-coffee energizing drink. Following a successful year of operating and popularizing matcha, the founders decided to expand into a brick-and-mortar establishment with a unique dine-in space.
The new dine-in area is inspired by the Wabi-Sabi concept, reflecting simplicity and beauty in imperfection. Its minimalist, modern design evokes a serene Japanese teahouse, offering visitors a peaceful escape from the bustling city of Mumbai. Founder Meher Kohli shared her excitement, saying, "Our new dine-in space is more than just a place to grab a matcha drink. It's a sanctuary where you can escape the hustle and bustle of Mumbai and truly immerse yourself in the world of matcha."
The menu at Tokyo Matcha Bar caters to matcha lovers, offering a variety of unique beverages and superfoods sourced from around the world. Popular drinks include the Matcha Vanilla Bean Latte, Frozen Matcha Lemonade, Wild Berry Matcha Iced Tea, and a range of "Skinny Af" health-conscious drinks. Coffee options are also available for those who prefer a more traditional taste.
In addition to beverages, the menu has been expanded to include an oriental dining experience inspired by Southeast Asian flavors. Customers can enjoy Aunty Leena's Spring Rolls, Matcha Fried Chicken, Gyoza, and Wontons. The food menu also includes comforting dishes such as Fried Rice, Dan Dan Noodles, Gojujang Mac and Cheese, and Katsu Curry. To finish on a sweet note, dessert lovers can indulge in matcha-infused treats like Matcha Lava Cup-Kie, Matcha Crepe, and Matcha Soft Serve.
Tokyo Matcha Bar is more than just a place to grab a drink—it's a relaxing retreat in the middle of the city.
