Chinese Wok, India’s largest Chinese quick service restaurant chain, has launched a new street-style Chowmein, bringing the iconic flavours of Kolkata’s desi-Chinese cuisine to a modern and hygienic QSR format.

This new dish pays tribute to the vibrant culinary fusion born in Kolkata, where Chinese cooking styles met bold Indian spices. Chinese Wok’s version of Chowmein features wok-tossed noodles, crunchy vegetables, and rich, umami-packed sauces that recreate the classic smoky and spicy notes of this much-loved street food.

Aimed at Gen Z and millennial consumers, the launch offers a familiar yet upgraded experience of a nostalgic dish. “With the launch of Chowmein, we are bringing a piece of India’s culinary nostalgia into a format that’s accessible, hygienic, and scalable,” said Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal, Founder and Director of Lenexis Foodworks. “Our goal was to recreate the familiar smoky, spicy experience that so many of us grew up loving and present it in a way that resonates with today’s young, fast-moving consumer.”

The launch is backed by a dynamic digital-first campaign featuring teaser videos, influencer content, and eye-catching visuals designed to drive interest and trial. In line with the ongoing cricket fever, the brand has also introduced cricket-themed packaging and special match-day offers.

As Chinese Wok expands across India, the launch of Chowmein reflects its commitment to celebrating regional food culture while serving up bold flavours with speed, affordability, and quality. By bringing this street-side favourite into the national QSR scene, Chinese Wok continues to redefine desi-Chinese cuisine for today’s fast-paced generation.

Essensai067, the beloved community-first cultural hub in Whitefield, has launched its signature in-house brand, Barnhouse—a one-of-a-kind culinary atelier where sustainability meets flavor and wellness takes centerstage.

More than just a restaurant, Barnhouse offers an experience where mindful eating and holistic living converge. The menu is a celebration of seasonal, farm-to-fork vegetarian dishes, thoughtfully curated to nourish both body and soul. Ingredients are chosen not only for their taste but also for their wellness benefits and balance.

At the heart of Barnhouse lies a zero-waste kitchen—a space where ingredients are used consciously, and nothing is carried over to the next day. Adding to its eco-conscious approach is an in-house hydroponic system, producing fresh, pesticide-free greens using a water-efficient, soil-less technique that supports year-round sustainability.

The ambiance is as immersive as the food. Designed with untouched quarry rocks, handcrafted wooden furniture, and Red Agra sandstone tiles, Barnhouse pays homage to artisanal heritage. A custom-built pizza oven made from traditional Achikal bricks, passive cooling features, abundant sunlight, and surrounding greenery offer a serene and timeless dining experience.

“Food is a powerful connector,” says Haresh M Mirpuri, Founder of Essensai067 and Barnhouse. “With Barnhouse, we’re redefining what it means to dine—focusing on sustainability, flavor, and community. We invite guests to experience food in its purest form and be part of a space that values both the earth and the joy of sharing a meal.”

In true Essensai067 fashion, Barnhouse is inclusive and welcoming—designed for children, the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and even pets. The space reflects a commitment to accessibility, comfort, and community togetherness.

From its eco-conscious design to its soul-soothing menu, Barnhouse is setting a new benchmark in conscious dining. It’s not just a place to eat, but a place to connect, reflect, and create memories.
