Hyatt Regency Chennai has officially appointed Ms. Kanjana Nikesri as the new Asian Chef De Cuisine for Stix, the hotel’s renowned Asian restaurant. Ms. Nikesri brings a robust background in culinary arts, honed through years of experience at prestigious hotels and restaurants around the world.
Ms. Nikesri’s culinary journey began with a Western-Thai Culinary Course at Dusit Thani College, complementing her academic foundation, which includes a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Ramkhamhaeng University. Over the years, she has held key positions, notably serving as the Asian Chef De Cuisine at Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai. There, she excelled in creating innovative menus, controlling food costs, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes across a variety of Asian cuisines, including Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian, Korean, and Japanese.
Before her tenure at Sahara Star, Ms. Nikesri worked with several esteemed establishments, such as Ariyasub Co. Ltd and The Chedi Muscat Hotel in Oman, where she focused on menu development, cost management, and team training. Her career also includes significant roles at Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea, OZO Samui, Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche Hotel, and JW Marriott Hotel Dubai. Her professional journey began at Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach.
Ms. Nikesri has also pursued further professional development, completing specialized training such as the Essential Train the Trainer program at Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea and Essential Food Safety Training from the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority. Her diverse skill set includes the intricate art of vegetable and fruit carving and mastery over a wide range of Asian culinary techniques.
In her new role at Stix, Ms. Nikesri will oversee all aspects of Asian culinary operations. She will focus on developing and implementing innovative menus, maintaining high culinary standards, and ensuring exceptional dining experiences for guests.

Tmt. J. Innocent Divya, IAS, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Tamil Nadu Tourism and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), marking an important leadership transition for the state’s tourism sector.
Prior to taking charge of tourism, J. Innocent Divya served as Commissioner of Technical Education, where she played a key role in policy execution, institutional strengthening and administrative reforms. Her tenure in the education department was marked by a focus on governance efficiency and system-level improvements.
With her experience across public administration and policy implementation, the appointment is expected to bring a renewed strategic approach to tourism development in Tamil Nadu. The state’s tourism ecosystem, which spans heritage, culture, coastal destinations and emerging experiential travel, stands to benefit from a leadership focus on innovation, infrastructure coordination and visitor-centric initiatives.
As Commissioner and MD of TTDC, J. Innocent Divya will oversee tourism promotion, destination development and operational initiatives aimed at enhancing Tamil Nadu’s position as one of India’s leading tourism destinations. Her administrative background is also expected to support stronger inter-departmental coordination and sustainable growth of the sector.

Cygnett Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd has announced the appointment of Mr. Sumit Ghosh as Associate Vice President – Sales, strengthening its senior leadership as the hospitality group continues to scale operations across multiple Indian markets.
In his new role, Ghosh will lead the company’s sales strategy, focus on strengthening key accounts, and drive revenue growth across the portfolio. His responsibilities will include corporate sales, key account management, market development, and aligning sales plans with Cygnett’s broader growth strategies. He will also work closely with key stakeholders within the organisation and with asset partners.
Ghosh brings over 24 years of experience in the hotel industry, with strong expertise across sales leadership, business development, and revenue-focused roles in branded hotel chains. He holds a postgraduate degree in Marketing Management (PGDBA) from SCDL–Symbiosis, Pune, a Diploma in Hotel Management from IIHM, Kolkata, and a BA in International Hospitality Management from Queen Margaret University, Scotland.
Prior to joining Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, Ghosh was associated with several well-known hotel groups, including Wyndham Hotel Group, Royal Orchid Hotels, Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, Jaypee Hotels, Best Western Premier, and Sunday Hotels. His experience spans hotels in metro cities as well as other regions, contributing to business restructuring, corporate alliances, and top-line growth across different portfolios.
