Changi Airport Group (CAG) has entrusted real estate giant OUE with the development of a groundbreaking zero-energy hotel at Changi Airport Terminal 2, slated to open in 2028. This ambitious project will feature the Hotel Indigo brand and aims to set a new standard in energy-efficient hospitality in Singapore.
OUE’s Deputy CEO, Brian Riady, expressed his enthusiasm about the project, noting, "We are honored to lead such an innovative development at one of the world's leading aviation hubs. This project underscores our commitment to pioneering sustainable hospitality solutions."
The hotel will host 255 rooms, each equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. Highlights include a rooftop day club, a bar, and an infinity pool that offers sweeping views. Its design will feature a "Floating Forest" — a seven-story structure filled with rainforest flora and epiphytes, enhancing the natural ambiance.
CAG CEO Lee Seow Hiang praised the hotel’s concept, stating, "OUE’s proposal was exceptional and aligns with our vision to introduce the world's first zero-energy airport hotel. As travel continues to rebound, this hotel will significantly enhance our accommodation offerings, providing unparalleled convenience and innovative facilities to travelers."
Hotel Indigo Changi Airport is dedicated to sustainability, aiming for energy neutrality through the use of solar panels, hybrid cooling systems, and rainwater harvesting. These features are part of a comprehensive strategy to minimize environmental impact while ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
This development not only adds to the OUE Group’s impressive portfolio, which includes YOTELAIR at Jewel Changi Airport and Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, but also marks a significant step forward in sustainable development within the global hospitality industry.
