Washington, D.C. is set to witness a new era in hospitality with the launch of Placemakr's innovative properties: Placemakr NoMa and Placemakr Cathedral Heights. Developed in collaboration with MMg Development, this 62-unit, 6-story apartment building is strategically located in the vibrant NoMa neighborhood. Marriott International is all set to introduce its Moxy Hotels brand to Dubai’s bustling Al Barsha neighborhood by mid-2025. Partnering with Al Ali Property Investments (API), the existing property will undergo a rebranding and refurbishment to launch as Moxy Al Barsha Dubai.
Chadi Hauch, Regional Vice-President for Middle East Lodging Development at Marriott International, expressed excitement over the project:“The Moxy Al Barsha Dubai will serve as a playful lifestyle hotel, bringing a spirited experience to Dubai’s vibrant hospitality landscape. Dubai remains an important growth market for the company, and we continue to see strong demand for hospitality experiences that are as stylish as they are affordable.”
The Moxy brand—celebrated for its industrial-chic aesthetic and social communal spaces—will make its UAE debut with this property. Guests can expect smart guestrooms, locally influenced programming, and vibrant common areas ideal for socializing and productivity.

IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to introduce its voco brand to Malaysia, announcing the opening of voco Kuching in 2026. This marks IHG's return to Kuching, Sarawak, after a 16-year hiatus.
The global hospitality group has partnered with Malaysian real estate developer Elica Equity to create this 321-room hotel, which will be part of a 12-storey mixed-use development. This development represents the redevelopment of the former independent Century Hotel, reimagined to reflect voco’s distinctive brand identity.
Located just 15 minutes from Kuching's city centre and five minutes from Kuching International Airport, voco Kuching promises to offer a mix of modern amenities and unparalleled convenience. The hotel will feature a swimming pool, an all-day dining café, a lounge, a fitness centre, and extensive meeting spaces spanning over 2,400m². A highlight of the property is its ballroom, which can host up to 1,300 guests, alongside versatile function rooms suitable for various events.
Patrick Finn, Vice President of Development for IHG Hotels & Resorts in South East Asia & Korea, expressed enthusiasm about the project:
