The Assam government is taking a significant step to transform the state into a tourism hub with the introduction of the Assam Tourism (Development and Registration) Bill, 2024. The cabinet's decisions also include streamlining administrative processes by removing provisions related to village councils from different autonomous councils, benefiting several communities. Additionally, the transfer of public water supply schemes from the Public Health Engineering Department to Urban Local Bodies aims to optimize operational efficiency and sustainability.
