Following the success of the G7 summit at Hotel Agora Regency Osaka Sakai in October 2023, Agora Hospitalities is gearing up to welcome visitors for Osaka’s World Expo 2025, set to take place on Yumeshima from April to October 2025.
As part of this milestone, Agora is launching Dorsett by Agora Osaka Sakai, Japan’s first Dorsett hotel, opening on March 25, 2025. Located just three train stops from the bustling shopping district of Namba and a 30-minute ride from the airport, the hotel offers an ideal stay for both business and leisure travelers.
A key highlight is the hotel’s exclusive ferry service—operating four times daily, connecting guests from the pier right outside the hotel to the Expo site in just 30 minutes.
The property features 321 elegantly designed rooms and suites, including guestroom sizes ranging from 22 to 44 sq.m, with half offering stunning views of Sakai harbour. Guests can also enjoy an all-day dining restaurant with an outdoor harbourfront terrace for 120 guests, along with a meeting room accommodating up to 42 people. Each room is designed for comfort, featuring compact minibars, window-side seating, and sofa beds.
With sustainability at its core, the hotel’s design embraces ‘Greenery, Earth, and Sea’ elements, incorporating eco-friendly materials such as ceramic tiles, bricks, and upcycled denim cushions from the Japanese brand Rekrow.
Guests booking directly with the hotel will benefit from Dorsett 26 Hours, allowing a flexible check-in/out time with a full 26-hour stay. The Dorsett Discoveries program will also offer curated local experiences across Sakai and Osaka.
"This debut, in partnership with Dorsett Hospitality International, marks Agora’s 10th property and introduces Japan’s first Dorsett Hotel. Dorsett by Agora Osaka Sakai reflects our commitment to exceptional hospitality and showcasing the best of Japan," said Michael Xian, CEO and President of Agora Hospitality Group.
To celebrate its grand opening, the hotel is offering a Soft Opening Special—a 38% discount for stays from March 25 to December 31, 2025, available for booking until April 30, 2025.

On the 30th floor, sweeping views of Tokyo Bay and Gotenyama Hill complement Kamakura-bori inspired artworks and photographic art by Sho Makishima, offering guests a contemplative and tranquil experience.
The property features 200 stylish rooms and suites, including the brand’s new Mindful Rooms & Suites concept, debuting in Asia in December 2025. Designed as calming sanctuaries, these accommodations offer natural materials, floor-to-ceiling city views, and indulgent sustainable amenities, enhancing rest, reflection, and well-being.
Dining experiences at JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo range from avant-garde Japanese cuisine to modern Mediterranean fare. Signature restaurants include Kakō, offering seasonal washoku dishes, and Saki, an intimate eight-seat kappo restaurant blending creativity and tradition. The Sefino Mediterranean restaurant features immersive murals and seasonal menus, while Le Cres serves artisanal Japanese-inspired croissants. Guests can also enjoy the JW Bar and the JW Lounge for curated drinks and afternoon tea.
For events, the hotel provides 1,140 square meters of versatile event space, including Japan’s largest ballroom with 270° movable LED walls, ideal for meetings, conferences, and social gatherings.
Wellness and leisure offerings include a 28th-floor pool with panoramic city views, a signature Spa by JW featuring Japanese-inspired treatments, and a modern Fitness Center. Families are catered to with Family by JW, a complimentary program designed to engage young travelers with fun activities and educational experiences.
“We are honored to open the doors of our first JW Marriott hotel in Tokyo, bringing signature luxury and warmth to this vibrant city,” said Christopher Clark, General Manager, JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo. “The hotel offers a haven of sophistication and tranquility, where every detail inspires connection, reflection, and well-being.”

American Airlines has raised its 2025 profit forecast, signaling that capacity cuts implemented after a demand slump earlier this year are beginning to yield stronger pricing power. Shares of the Fort Worth-based carrier rose 6% by market close after hitting nearly 8% gains intraday.
Earlier this year, domestic travel had slowed due to economic uncertainty, pushing airlines to lower fares to fill seats. Since then, major carriers have scaled back capacity, restoring pricing power and safeguarding margins. American Airlines reported sequential improvement in unit revenue, with September marking a return to positive growth. By year-end, the carrier expects to fully restore indirect revenue, which had previously been affected by renegotiations with corporate travel agencies that reduced perks and discounts.
The airline now forecasts full-year adjusted profit per share in the range of 65 cents to 95 cents, a significant turnaround from its July forecast of a 20-cent loss to an 80-cent profit. For the quarter through September, American reported a smaller-than-expected adjusted loss of 17 cents per share, beating analysts’ expectation of a 28-cent loss. Total operating revenue rose marginally to approximately $13.69 billion, surpassing estimates of $13.63 billion.
High-margin premium services remain robust, with affluent travelers continuing to pay for upgraded experiences. American Airlines plans to expand premium seating at nearly twice the pace of main cabin seats and invest in airport infrastructure, including new lounges and facilities. The airline aims to close the margin gap with rivals United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, emphasizing the importance of premium cabin and loyalty revenues.
Additionally, Nathaniel Pieper, CEO of the oneworld alliance, has been appointed as American Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer, effective November 3.
Tom Fitzgerald from TD Cowen noted, "We are encouraged by American’s results and view it as another indication of the importance of premium cabin and loyalty revenues."
As travel demand recovers, American Airlines continues to focus on premium services and strategic capacity management to strengthen profitability and market share in 2025.

Hyatt has announced plans to launch its first hotel in Zambia with the upcoming Hyatt Regency Lusaka The Pamodzi, set to open in 2026. The move comes through a management agreement between a Hyatt affiliate and ASB Hotel Properties and Albwardy Investments (Pamodzi Hotels PLC).
The property, currently known as The Pamodzi Hotel, will remain open during a complete refurbishment and later reopen under the Hyatt Regency brand. This milestone marks Hyatt’s entry into the Zambian market, expanding its footprint in Africa and offering World of Hyatt members new destinations to explore and earn rewards.
“We are delighted to work with ASB Hotel Properties, Albwardy Investments and Pamodzi Hotels PLC to bring the Hyatt Regency brand to Zambia in 2026,” said Stephen Ansell, Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, Hyatt. “This signing is a fantastic milestone as we continue growing our brands in Africa, showcasing our commitment to enhancing our brand presence in the region and expanding our Classics Portfolio in new destinations.”
Sharing his excitement, Ali Albwardy, Chairman of Albwardy Investments, added, “The Pamodzi Hotel has long been a landmark in Lusaka, and through this renovation and rebranding, we aim to elevate it into a world-class destination for both business and leisure travelers. This project reflects our continued commitment to Africa’s hospitality sector and to creating exceptional guest experiences in markets with strong growth potential.”
Located in the heart of Lusaka, the upcoming Hyatt Regency Lusaka The Pamodzi will feature 170 contemporary guestrooms and suites, thoughtfully designed for comfort and style. The hotel will also offer modern meeting and event spaces, ideal for both corporate gatherings and private celebrations.
Guests will have easy access to the city’s main attractions such as the Lusaka National Museum, and nature enthusiasts can reach Lusaka National Park and the Elephant Orphanage Project within a short drive — making it a convenient stay for both business and leisure travelers.
The hotel’s debut will reinforce Hyatt’s ongoing expansion across Africa, combining global standards of hospitality with the warm, welcoming spirit Zambia is known for.
