The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) is set to broaden its horizon in Northeast India with the announcement of its first hotel in Dibrugarh, Assam, under the esteemed Ginger brand. This 77-key hotel, a Greenfield project on a fully fitted lease, symbolizes IHCL's commitment to expanding its footprint in the region, reinforcing its presence in the heart of India's tea country.

Strategically positioned on KC Gogoi Path in the city's vibrant center, the hotel promises easy access to Dibrugarh Airport and the area's most notable tourist attractions. Designed to embody Ginger's 'lean luxe' philosophy, it aims to provide guests with a modern, seamless hospitality experience that balances luxury and simplicity.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate & Development at IHCL, expressed enthusiasm about the venture, stating, "This signing aligns with IHCL’s strong commitment to North East India, where we have been rapidly expanding our footprint. The hotel is poised to become a culinary destination with its signature all-day diner, Qmin, offering a mix of global and local cuisine. Guests can also look forward to utilizing the state-of-the-art fitness center and meeting rooms, catering to both leisure and business travelers.

Vedanta Baruah of Vela Hotel & Resort LLP shared his excitement about the collaboration, stating, "This will be the first Ginger hotel in Dibrugarh. Baruah, a notable figure in the Insurance and Reinsurance Broking Industry and CEO of BMS Masaood, brings a wealth of experience to this venture.

Dibrugarh, often referred to as the 'Tea City of India,' is not only a major hub for tea trade but also home to Dibru Saikhowa National Park, one of the world's 19 biodiversity hotspots. The addition of this hotel will increase IHCL's portfolio in Assam to six hotels, including four under development, further establishing its dominance in the hospitality sector and enhancing the tourism landscape of Assam.
