This ambitious campaign not only showcases India's captivating locales but also taps into the immense potential of its flourishing wedding industry. Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mission to boost tourism, the ministry's latest move aims to highlight India's charm as a top-tier wedding venue globally.
The unveiling of this campaign is a testament to India's commitment to becoming a global leader in the wedding tourism sector. By combining cultural heritage with modern elegance, India seeks to welcome couples from around the world to celebrate their special day in the heart of this vibrant nation.
G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Tourism, inaugurated the campaign, emphasizing its comprehensive approach to crafting a wedding experience that truly reflects India's warmth and rich heritage. The campaign's 360-degree approach ensures that every moment, from the first 'hello' to the final 'I do,' embodies the essence of India's cultural richness.
The campaign kicks off by spotlighting 25 key destinations across the country, demonstrating how India perfectly fits into couples' wedding aspirations. From picturesque landscapes to sacred traditions, from tantalizing culinary delights to state-of-the-art infrastructure, this initiative captures the very essence of India's grandeur. It's an invitation for couples to say 'I do' against a backdrop that transcends imagination.
India's rich heritage merges seamlessly with contemporary elegance through this campaign, enticing the world to embark on an unforgettable journey of love and celebration. This collaborative approach involves industry experts, associations, and experienced wedding planners, ensuring that India's allure as a wedding tourism hotspot is portrayed accurately.
Samit Garg, President of EEMA (Event and Entertainment Management Association), commends the initiative, affirming its alignment with Prime Minister Modi's vision. This collaborative effort by the Ministry of Tourism is now shining brightly as a reality.
To complement this effort, the campaign utilizes a 360-degree approach that integrates digital marketing, social media promotions, partnerships with wedding planners, collaborations with influencers, and a mix of both physical and virtual events. The campaign seeks to redefine India's image beyond just royal and extravagant weddings, covering a spectrum of themes like beach weddings, nature weddings, royal weddings, Himalayan weddings, and more.

In a significant move to promote tourism and economic growth, the Malaysian government has announced the extension of the visa exemption for Indian nationals until December 31, 2026. This extension aligns with Malaysia’s plans for its ASEAN chairmanship in 2025 and its preparations for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
The announcement was made by Home Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Awang Alik Jeman on December 20, 2024. In his statement, Awang Alik confirmed that a similar visa exemption had also been granted to Chinese nationals, further solidifying Malaysia's strategic visa liberalisation plan. The plan, which was launched on December 1, 2023, grants a 30-day visa exemption to both Indian and Chinese nationals.
"This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance Malaysia’s appeal as a top travel destination while ensuring the safety and security of the nation," said Awang Alik. The extension is expected to attract a higher number of tourists from India and China, providing a significant boost to Malaysia’s tourism sector, which is vital to the country’s post-pandemic recovery.
The move reflects Malaysia’s commitment to balancing ease of access with national security concerns. As the country prepares for key international events, including ASEAN chairmanship and Visit Malaysia Year 2026, the visa exemption is seen as a crucial part of Malaysia's long-term growth strategy in the tourism and economic sectors.

From the resurgence of domestic travel to advances in sustainable practices and technology-driven innovations, the year has been pivotal. Industry leaders Ashok Vashist, Founder and CEO of WTiCabs, and Pranav Dangi, CEO and Founder of The Hosteller, share their reflections and predictions for 2025.
Ashok Vashist described 2024 as a defining year for travel, with a strong push towards sustainability and technological integration. "The growing adoption of electric vehicles and shared mobility services has transformed the landscape. Customers now actively choose eco-friendly options, and corporates align with ESG goals by embracing sustainable practices," said Ashok. He highlighted challenges like charging infrastructure and battery recycling but emphasized the sector's resilience and adaptability.
Pranav Dangi reflected on the revival of domestic and international travel, driven by Millennials and Gen Z travelers seeking affordable, community-centric, and sustainable experiences. "The rise of offbeat and regional destinations due to remote work has energized domestic travel. Technology has been a game changer, with AI-driven personalization and seamless digital experiences becoming the norm," shared Pranav. At The Hosteller, sustainability initiatives such as energy-efficient operations and vegetarian menus resonated with eco-conscious travelers.
As 2025 approaches, both leaders foresee exciting opportunities and unique challenges.
Ashok Vashist envisions a transformative phase for mobility, with electric vehicles, alternative fuels, and shared services at the forefront. "AI, automation, and Mobility-as-a-Service platforms will drive seamless, personalized travel experiences. Investments in infrastructure and battery tech will bridge gaps, paving the way for scalable and inclusive mobility solutions," he said.
For Pranav Dangi, 2025 will be a year of innovation and personalization in travel. "Travelers will seek unique experiences like eco-tourism, cultural immersion, and adventure trips. Workations will continue to grow as remote work becomes a norm, and we at The Hosteller aim to provide tailored spaces for digital nomads. Technology will further simplify planning, with AI offering real-time recommendations," Pranav added.
Sustainability remains a central focus for both leaders. Ashok predicts a surge in demand for eco-friendly solutions, while Pranav anticipates increased interest in lesser-known destinations as travelers move away from crowded hotspots. "2025 will be all about meaningful travel, with Gen Z and Millennials driving trends like slow travel," Pranav concluded.
As the industry enters a new chapter, the insights of leaders like Ashok and Pranav underscore the evolving preferences of travelers and the innovations shaping the sector. Whether it’s creating seamless mobility ecosystems or redefining backpacking experiences, the future of travel is poised to be more sustainable, personalized, and connected.
